Hi, I’m Sandra, founder and designer of Shadowfern Creative. With over a decade of experience across branding, print, and digital design, my work is rooted in shaping ideas into visuals that feel purposeful and grounded. Shadowfern Creative marks the next chapter in my design journey. After years of working in corporate design, I created this studio to bring more focus, freedom, and intention to the work I take on. It’s a space built for bold design and distinct personality, where ideas are shaped with intention and brought to life through strong visuals.
Inspired by Contrasts
Originally from Germany and now based near Michigan’s shoreline, my work draws from both the precision of European design and the grounding presence of nature. Whether wandering city streets or spending time along the water, I’m drawn to places where those opposites meet. That balance carries into my work, shaping designs that feel grounded, expressive, and intentional.
The Shadowfern Spirit
Alongside nature and travel, I’ve always been drawn to the darker, more mysterious side of things. Twilight, shadow, and texture influence how I see and shape design. That fascination gave Shadowfern Creative its name and spirit, reflecting work that values depth, contrast, and personality over fleeting trends.
Creativity Beyond the Desk
Creativity doesn’t stop at my desk. Outside of client work, I’m often stitching intricate designs, experimenting with beadwork, or crafting with stones collected along the Michigan shoreline. I share this creative space with my husband and our two cats — constant companions, occasional distractions, and a reminder that inspiration often lives in the quiet, everyday moments.
